Bank Security Guard When I was a little boy, my father said to me, “Son, when you grow to be a man what are you going to be?” I looked him straight in the eye and said “Dad, I wanna be like you are” He said, “Son, I’m a regular guy, I’m not no rock star” “I’m a bank security guard; criminals shoot at me. I open up the doors at nine and lock ‘em up at three.” When I grew up and finished school, I got myself a gun. Practised shooting at the target range; that was lots of fun. Then I went to see the bank manager with my clothes all pressed and clean. He looked me straight in the eye and said, “Son tell me your dream.” I said, “I wanna be a bank security guard and have criminals shoot at me. I’ll open up your doors at nine and lock em up at three.” Now I work at the Central Trust; I think it’s very nice. I’ve been working here ten years; I’ve only been shot at twice. Yesterday I asked my son, “When you grow up what will you do?” He looked me straight in the eye and said, “Dad, I wanna be like you.” “I wanna be a bank security guard and have criminals shoot at me. I’ll open up the doors at nine and lock em up at three.”
