The Old Shady Bar Comin’ home late in my car as I drove past the old shady bar I wondered do they still play that music loud? Do they turn the lights down real low when the band comes on and to start the show; can you still feel the hunger of the crowd? So I stopped outside that shady bar and wondered how I drifted so far from my friends and all those crazy nights. Does the barmaid there still pour ‘em strong, does everyone still sing along when the band plays them old songs just right? I know it’s late but I don’t care; I gotta find out what’s going on in there, though I swear I won’t get fooled again. Just stand up straight and walk inside with a old pair of boots and a young man’s stride: I gotta find out where all my lost time went. Now late at night, I look at the stars and wonder if heaven’s an old shady bar; well if it is, that’s where I want to go. So pour me one more glass of wine and I’ll be leavin’ when it’s time; I hope the band there puts on a good show. thanks to Jay for the vocal
